The Hillander School is a nonprofit, non-denominational private school on West Wadley Avenue, serving children from age 3 through 6th grade. Marilyn Taubman started it in 1961 and named it after her two daughters.

Parents come for the Carden Method of reading, which the school has used since it opened, plus Spanish starting in kindergarten, art, music, library and science, with classes capped at about 20 students.
