Yucca Learning is a nonprofit school on North Lamesa Road that runs Montessori programs from 15 months to age 6 and an Acton Academy program, Yucca Studios, for elementary through high school.

Families come for self-paced, learner-driven school with no traditional grades. Students work toward mastery through projects, exhibitions and Socratic discussion, and middle schoolers can take on summer apprenticeships.

Our tip

Go to an open house before you apply. The elementary and older program uses an audition process, so read the enrollment steps on the website first.
