Neighborhoods built roughly from the 1950s through the 1980s, generally inside Loop 250, on mature tree-lined streets.
What it's like
The neighborhoods people name
Fairmont Park. Known for ranch-style homes on established streets, close enough to downtown that the commute is measured in minutes.
Wilshire Heights and Western Hills. Similar territory on the west-central side.
Racquet Club. Named for the tennis club it grew up around, southeast of Plantation Hills.
Plantation Hills and Mockingbird Heights. In the same general band on the north-central side.
Mockingbird Heights and what’s been built around it
Most of the homes in Mockingbird Heights date to around 1998, newer than much of this band. The neighborhood has its own 2.4-acre park at 5913 Shadyview Place with walking paths, a playground, a pool and a tennis court. It also sits next to the 20-acre mixed-use development at 3200 Mockingbird Lane, which added a four-acre park, retail, restaurants, a pickleball pavilion and an event lawn.
Schools: confirm the attendance zone for the exact address with Midland ISD or Greenwood ISD before you sign anything. Zones change as new campuses open. Our schools guide has the lay of the land.
