Finding a new chair in a town this size usually happens by word of mouth, which is great until you are new here or your stylist moves. So we put together a list of Midland salons, barbershops, nail studios and spas, with where to find each one and what they offer.
These are just a few of the places locals book with to start, and it is nowhere near everybody. Midland has a deep bench in this category, a lot of it working out of individual studios rather than storefronts, so consider this a starting point rather than a full roundup.
One Thing to Know Before You Book
A large share of Midland’s stylists, barbers, estheticians and lash artists work independently, either renting a booth inside a salon or leasing a private studio. Sola Salon Studios has individual studios at 4400 Midland Dr, Suite 2800, in the Cornerstone Shopping Center at Loop 250 and Midland Drive.
What that means practically: at a lot of these places you are not booking “the salon,” you are booking a specific person, usually through their own link on Squire, Booksy, GlossGenius, Square, Vagaro or Fresha. If a shop’s website sends you to a list of names instead of one calendar, that is why, and it is also why prices and hours can vary chair to chair under the same roof.
Hair Salons
Reset Salon & Spa runs as a full-service salon and spa under one roof: hair and extensions, nails, massage, skin treatments and body contouring. One heads-up: their own site and current business records list different addresses, so check resetsalon.com before you drive over. Worth noting for anyone searching, there is a similarly named .org domain floating around that is not theirs.
TSL Salon is at 3303 N Midkiff Rd, Suite 193, 79705. It was formerly The Spotted Leopard Salon, and the Instagram handle still carries the old name. Brylie Wood bought the business in 2023. They do hair and nails, including kids’ cuts. The old spottedleopard domain no longer resolves, so tslsalon.com is the one to use.
The Beauty Bar, 4410 N Midkiff Rd, Suite D8A, 79705, is a good example of the independent-artist model above. Owner Viviana Dominguez has roughly ten hair artists plus an esthetician and several lash artists working under the roof, each with a separate booking link. Between them the shop covers cuts, color, balayage, blonding, hand-tied extensions, blowouts, lashes and brows, body contouring and lymphatic drainage, and aesthetics work including neurotoxins, filler, facials, peels and dermaplaning. They book through the website rather than a front desk.
Mint Salon is an Aveda concept salon in the same Midkiff center at 3303 N Midkiff Rd, Suite 119, 79705. Color, balayage, highlights, keratin, perms, men’s cuts and waxing. They run their business through Instagram rather than a standalone site.
Barbershops
Barbershops are one of the deeper benches in town, and several of them trace back to the same downtown shops.
Ocotillo Barbershop is at 3211 W Wadley Ave, Suite 10, 79705, in the Imperial Shopping Center at Wadley and Midkiff, behind Murray’s deli. Owner Joe Morales describes it as a contemporary, minimalist shop built around West Texas, with exposed brick, vintage leather chairs and the desert plant it takes its name from. The menu runs from cuts and kids’ cuts to beard trims, hot towel straight razor work, head shaves and brow waxing and lamination. Booking is through Squire, with roughly seven barbers who each keep their own schedule, so hours vary by chair. Morales moved the operation off the downtown scene, where he cut at Buena Suerte and co-owned what is now Legado on W Wall St, and his booking page still leads with the fact that the shop is no longer downtown.
Aces & Eights Barber Shop, 3303 N Midkiff Rd, Suite 170, 79705, in the San Miguel Shopping Center. Men’s haircuts, shaves, beard trims, perms, color and facial waxing. Book through Vagaro or join the waitlist; walk-ins are welcome.
The Men’s Den Barbershop is at 4519 N Garfield St, 79705. Haircuts, beard trims, hot towel straight razor shaves, color, waxing, facials, and shampoo and scalp treatments, plus memberships. Nine barbers and stylists each take their own bookings through Perceny.
Legendz BarberShop is in Westwood Village at 4310 W Illinois Ave, Suite 320, 79703, under owner Junior Guevara. It has been around since roughly 2018 and runs seven to nine barbers on a booth-rental setup, with a walk-in sign-in sheet plus individual Booksy links. Note the suite number, since Suite 100 in the same center is a different business.
G-Street Barbershop, formerly Buena Suerte, is downtown at 101 N G St, 79701, run by Esau Ramirez. It is the old-school end of the spectrum: haircuts, beard trims, straight razor line-ups and fades, hot towel straight razor shaves and shoe shines, in a retro room with a vintage jukebox.
The Barber’s Lounge, 4711 Briarwood Ave, Suite 2B, 79707, opened in February 2018 and bills itself as the home of the hot towel shave. Five barbers, booking through Squire.
Full House Barbershop is at 4300 N Midland Dr, Suite 105, 79707. Cuts, hot towel shaves, beard trims, designs, kids’ cuts, facial masks and package deals, with five barbers.
Groom House Midland, 4400 N Big Spring St, Suite 18, 79705, is the smallest of the group at three barbers, run by owner and master barber Isaac Brown. The menu goes past cuts into steam facials and pedicure packages.
West Texas Barbershop is out at 6900 N State Highway 349, Suite 3, 79705, doing men’s cuts, beard trims and shaves. They post hours to Facebook rather than a website, so check there for the current schedule.
Nail and Lash Studios
Gravity Nails Lashes & Spa, 4416 Briarwood Ave #104, 79707, offers spa pedicures alongside acrylic, gel and dip services, nail art and lashes.
Midland Nails Lounge is at 3001 Loop 250 Frontage Rd #200, 79705, and covers manicures, pedicures, acrylic, dip and gel, waxing and eyelash extensions.
Annie’s Nails Spa sits at 2215 N Midland Dr, Suite 5D, 79707. Gel, dip powder, acrylic, mani and pedi packages, and nail art.
Blue Tree Nails & Spa, 3201 N Midland Dr, Suite 120, 79707, does regular polish, gel, acrylic, dip, nail art and jewelry, and waxing.
Day Spas and Massage
Escape Day Spa at 2109 W Texas Ave, Suite B, is owned and operated by Tracy Wade and offers Swedish, therapeutic, deep tissue, prenatal and aromatherapy massage using certified oils. One detail that trips people up: massage here is by referral only, so you cannot simply book it online. The lash side, run in residence by Nina Posey, does take public bookings.
Also in town, though part of a national chain rather than a local independent, is Woodhouse Spa Midland at 5400 Frio Dr, 79707, which runs the full menu of massage, facials and body treatments you would expect from that brand.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are there barbershops in Midland that take walk-ins?
Yes. Aces & Eights takes walk-ins and has a waitlist, Legendz keeps a sign-in sheet, and The Men’s Den takes walk-ins Tuesday through Saturday with Monday reserved for appointments. Several shops, including Ocotillo, are appointment-only, so check before you show up.
Why do so many Midland stylists and barbers have their own booking links?
Because a lot of them rent a booth or a private studio rather than working as employees. Sola Salon Studios on Midland Drive alone houses 27 separate studios. You are usually booking a person, not a front desk, which is also why prices can differ chair to chair in the same shop.
What is the difference between a day spa and a med spa here?
Day spas in Midland generally do massage, facials, waxing and similar treatments. Med spas offer cosmetic medical procedures such as injectables, lasers and microneedling, and most are overseen by a physician or an advanced practice provider.
