Photo: Best of Midland The Half Acre is the barbecue side of Midland Meat Company, on Washita Ct in North Midland. It smokes beef from the Scharbauer family's ranch and opened in 2019 after a year of pop-ups behind the meat market.
It's the Midland smokehouse that made Texas Monthly's 2025 list of the top 50 barbecue joints in Texas. People come for brisket, beef and pork ribs, turkey and green chile sausage.
The brisket is smoked in batches and can sell out, so go earlier in the day for your best shot at it.
