Local Stories. Local Favorites.
We’re Best of Midland, and this is home.
Best of Midland started in 2020 as a simple idea: one place to find the good stuff happening around town. Back then it was a business directory and an events calendar: useful, but quiet. Over the years it grew into something bigger: a local media brand telling the stories of the people, places, and businesses that make Midland worth living in.
Our list of favorites comes from you: from the owner pouring the coffee, the families filling the stands on Friday night, the makers and builders and characters who give this city its character.
Here’s the honest version: Terra grew up here. Midland is her hometown. She spent years away, and when we decided to move back to be closer to her family, I came along not really knowing what to expect. I fell for the place almost from day one. The people, the pace, the way a city this size still manages to surprise you. It got me. So Best of Midland is the two of us coming at it from both sides: one of us coming home, one of us falling for it fresh. We pay attention to Midland because we’re genuinely glad we’re here.
What we do is simple: we pay attention to Midland, and we share what we find. Honest guides to where to eat and what to do. A podcast where we sit down with the people behind it all. An events calendar that actually keeps up. And a weekly newsletter that rounds it all up in about ninety seconds.
The best things about a city aren’t the ones a billboard tells you about; they’re the ones a neighbor does. That’s the whole idea here. Everything we cover is local, curated, and personal. When we point to something worth knowing, it’s because the people who live here pointed first.
